VEI has utilized its unique technology and
developed products for the Sanitation and Food Safety
industries. These tests are the only true rapid tests that will
detect bacteria contamination on the spot in less than 20
minutes and do not require any laboratory time, equipment or
expense. These products are useful screening tools that will
detect dangerous levels of bacteria, including e-coli and
salmonella.
There are no other rapid tests on the market that detect
bacteria on food products, surfaces or equipment. The other
rapid tests on the market detect only ATP or sugars, which are
present in all organic material. Thus, a positive result is
meaningless as it will only indicate the presence of organic
material and not necessarily dangerous pathogenic
microorganisms.
Typical food safety and sanitation testing performed requires
traditional laboratory testing by growing up cultures on culture
plates. This requires laboratory equipment, trained personnel,
high expense, and lengthy time (days) to receive results.
VEI’s unique products are useful to many levels of the food
industry, anywhere from the grower, to the packager, to the
shipper, a food preparer or restaurant. Most food industries can
utilize these products, whether it is in the produce or meat
industries.
VEI has also developed confirmation tests that give fast
confirmation of specific bacteria. These confirmation tests save
time by eliminating consecutive growth plates usually required
to confirm specific bacteria, providing results in less than 30
minutes instead of days.
